NAD Launches USB DSD MDC Module

NAD has launched a new MDC Upgrade Module that brings high-resolution PCM and DSD computer music playback and streaming through the brand's popular amplifiers.
NAD Electronics MDC USB DSD is the latest module in its Modular Design Construction (MDC) portfolio. This new module adds USB Audio 2 for both PCM and DSD playback capability to six of NAD's most popular stereo (pre-) amplifiers - M33, M32, M12, C 388, C 368 and, in April, the C 658.
The MDC USB DSD module brings the convenience of computer music playback and streaming, in high resolution up to 24-bit/192kHz PCM and DSD up to DSD256, to your NAD hi-fi system. All it takes is to add the module and run a software update.
The module's asynchronous USB connection means that it bypasses the computer's low-quality DAC, clocks and associated circuitry that cause jitter and distortion and instead uses the high-quality DAC in select NAD amplifiers. We're promised that you will get the details and dynamics reproduced from the original recording in their full glory.
With the ever-growing amount of high-resolution content up to 24-bit/192kHz available for download or streaming, experiencing music as originally recorded in the studio or at a live concert has never been easier. The MDC USB DSD module enables you to play music from your computer's USB connection to stream from a local hard drive or popular music streaming services such as the newly announced Spotify HiFi, Tidal or Qobuz.
The MDC USB DSD is available now and costs £399/ €499 MSRP.
