VITUS SIA-030: MORE DETAILS AND PHOTOS AHEAD OF HIGH END MUNICH

Last week we broke the news of Vitus Audio's exciting SIA-030 integrated amplifier. Now, we're thrilled to be able to give you even more information and, better still, more photos! Oh, and we're loving the orange!

As we pack for Munich, we have just had word from Hans-Ole Vitus himself to tell us more about this incredible integrated. Also, he sent some fresh photos from the test bench.

We cannot imagine how you would even start to create a product intended to be a model up from a much coveted and multi-award winning icon, the SIA-025. Furthermore, Vitus also added that they wanted to keep the chassis as “small” as possible. The actual dimensions being 268 x 435 x 530mm (HxWxD) and the unit tips the scales at 63kg.

The technology inside the SIA-030 reuses the regulated power supply for the output stage of the Masterpiece MP-M201, combined with new technology for the lower voltage stages. The regulator module can easily be upgraded for future designs and likewise for the gain-stages in both the preamplifier and power-amplifier section. The newly developed volume control is now regulated only 0.5dB pr step throughout the entire volume control. The total gain available is 18dB which, when combined with the input sensitivity selector and high resolution of the volume control, offers full versatility for any sources and loads.

Regarding sources, you get a trio of XLR and a pair of RCA for input with stereo and pre outputs. The optional DAC/Streamer module adds AES and SPDIF (RCA) inputs as well as an Ethernet port, a USB port that supports up to 2x DSD and an Optical in for TV and such. Naturally, the additional phono stage adds another pair of RCA inputs.

The DAC/Streamer module is from the RL-101 /RD-101 but has been tweaked to match the performance expected of the SIA-030. The phonostage supports mm/mc and boasts individual load and gain settings.

Fully equipped, the SIA-030 will be all you need for a minimalistic 'uber' performing system - just add speakers and cables.

The MSRP is €35,000 for the 'basic' amp without options. The DAC/Streamer and phono modules are estimated to have an MSRP of somewhere between €5-7,000, with prices being confirmed at the end of June.

We're looking forward to hearing the SIA-030 at High End Munich 2019, Atrium 4.2 room E208.
