RHA CL2 WIRELESS IEM BOASTS SMALLEST PLANAR DRIVER

Glasgow-based IEM designer, RHA, has just announced the latest addition to their CL-line that are for use with headphone amplifiers and DACs. However, the CL2 has a superpower.
RHA tells us that its CL2 Planars are built around the most compact planar magnetic driver ever released. The 10mm driver used in the new earphones are inspired by the aerospace and jewellery industries. The driver is made up of a planar coil and 16-micrometre diaphragm suspended above two matched magnetic fields.
The boast of having "near indestructible" housings may be legit as the company has used Zirconium dioxide, a molecular structure used to protect jet engines. Additionally, you get the high-quality detachable, braided cables (3.5mm or balanced 2.5mm) for wired listening and a Bluetooth neckband for wireless listening. Yes, these planar-magnetic IEMs can go wire-free!
The CL2 comes with RHA’s latest aptX Bluetooth SecureFlex neckband. The collar-hugging addition provides 12 hours of wireless playback from a single charge and features a universal remote. The neckband can be set up to vibrate to signal incoming calls and launch your phone’s voice assistant meaning that you can send or read messages without having to touch your phone.
Also in the bundle is a flight case, carry pouch, a USB-C charging cable, flight adapter, and several choices of silicone and Comply Foam ear tips.
The RHA CL2 Planars has a quoted sensitivity of 89dB and a frequency range of 16 Hz – 45,000 Hz. They are available to pre-order now for £800.
StereoNET UK will be attending IFA 2018 in Berlin this week where they will debut, so these are right up the top of our 'must check out' list!
