RELOOP TURN 5 IS A WALLET FRIENDLY RECORD PLAYER

Following on from the success of the TURN 3 turntable in late 2016, Reloop’s second turntable, the TURN 5 is now available.

We don't know what happened to the TURN 4, but the TURN 5 has now arrived to find its niche in the market as a hi-fi grade direct drive turntable that won’t leave your credit card cowering in the corner.

It may be keenly priced, but this is still a precision-engineered, quartz-controlled direct-drive record player and in theory, should perform just as you would expect armed with those facts. The sturdy, industrial chassis boasts a premium finish complete with golden accents for those that like a touch of bling.

The attention to detail is not merely skin deep, either. Under the hood, you’ll find a brushless direct-drive DC motor that ensures a quick and powerful drive system with smooth, stable rotational power. This, in turn, is coupled to the dampening rubber base of the platter so that the TURN 5’s drive system is free from unwanted resonance. Reloop says this also means that the turntable can deliver excellent timing and detailed sound performance.

The speed control allows you to flick between 33, 45 and 78RPM playback via the three buttons on the top plate. Additionally, should you prefer using 78RPM mono cartridges for your shellac records, or a different type of cartridge for different musical styles, the TURN 5 is equipped with a statically balanced S-shape tonearm with removable headshell for easy cartridge changeovers.

The tonearm system boasts a sturdy-yet-light frame with convenient anti-skate dial, adjustable VTA, a hydraulic lift system and a heavy counterweight to suit a wide variety of cartridge/headshell combinations.

The TURN 5 chassis is constructed from heavy-duty metal fitted with shock-absorbing feet to further eliminate unwanted vibrations. The rear-mounted gold-plated, phono-level RCA outputs with separate earth connection are recessed into the chassis for added protection and to facilitate easy cable upgrades.

In the box, the TURN 5 is supplied with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, as well as a rubber platter mat. You even get a dust cover in the bundle.

The Reloop TURN 5 is available in the UK now for £650.
