Radio Paradise MQA Only on BluOS

Radio Paradise brings 24-bit MQA-encoded tunes to its mix channels on BluOS.

Bluesound, NAD, PSB Speakers owner, Lenbrook International, has announced a new internet radio station on its BluOS high-res multi-room streaming platform.

The new service, exclusively available on BluOs and launched in association with MQA, sees Radio Paradise providing MQA-encoded audio on all four of its mix channels. Furthermore, the station states that it is utilising high-resolution 24-bit masters where available.

The collaboration marks the first time an internet radio station will carry MQA content, the same technology used to power hi-res Tidal Masters on TIDAL, as well as being available on CD releases and as downloadable hi-res files.

Bill Goldsmith, the founder of Radio Paradise, told StereoNET:

...it was a revelation to hear the performance difference in music when encoded into MQA, even when only 16 bit/44 kHz masters are available. The team at BluOS has been 100% committed to delivering high-res audio direct to the listening room and has long supported our work at Radio Paradise.

Radio Paradise MQA will appear on all BluOS devices via a software update this month. Naturally, it will also be featured on all future BluOS-based devices from hi-fi brands such as DALI Loudspeakers, Monitor Audio, Roksan, and Peachtree, and those mentioned earlier.

Radio Paradise first began streaming its main mix in 2000 — an eclectic DJ-mixed blend of modern and classic rock, electronica, world music, and much more. Recently it's added three additional mixes, all featuring the genre-defying variety that is one of Radio Paradise's trademarks.

WHAT WE THINK

More MQA content and this time via a hi-res radio station. Hi-res content is always going to be welcomed here, but what are your thoughts on MQA as the format shows no signs of slowing down. Let us know on the forums.
