PSB Debuts Imagine T2 Series Flagship

From Canada, comes the Imagine T2 as a bold new leader for PSB's award-winning Imagine Series of loudspeakers.
A transitional five-way, full-range tower equipped with triple port bass reflex and subdivided discrete chambers, the T2 benefits directly from several features and technology from PSB's top-of-the-line Synchrony One. As the Imagine Series' new flagship tower, the T2 is much more than a larger version of the Imagine T floorstanding model.
The Imagine T2 features three custom-designed 5.25-inch drivers, each in its own individually sealed chamber, and a 4-inch midrange driver with clay/ceramic compounded polypropylene cones and rubber surrounds. A 1-inch titanium dome tweeter with ferrofluid rounds out the T2's acoustic design. Thanks to its third woofer, the T2 produces a deeper bass response down to 34Hz, plus it is capable of handling 50% more power to 300 watts, as compared to the Imagine T. Yet, the T2 does not compromise musicality or performance.
The Imagine T2 transitional five-way design with triple port bass reflex and subdivided discrete chambers is modelled after PSB's top-of-the-line Synchrony One, which serves to eliminate the amount of standing waves found in a typical tower speaker. By isolating each woofer in its own sealed chamber, the PSB design team, can provide greater control over system tuning, which results in the T2's deep bass and incredible detail. The T2 has been engineered for smooth and extended mid-bass and midrange response for authentic sound in real listening conditions.
“The Imagine Series has been one of our most popular ranges to date, especially for its solid price to performance ratio which means exceptional value. So we clearly knew that designing a new Imagine flagship would come with high expectations,” commented Paul Barton, Founder and Chief Designer of PSB Speakers. “With T2, I incorporated our latest design knowhow, along with two additional drivers in a taller cabinet, for deeper bass, a larger soundstage and increased power handling. Yet, all of this is achieved with the same, compact footprint as our Imagine T.”
Adding to the value of the Imagine T2 are its dual, five-way gold-plated binding posts for bi-amping or bi-wiring, adjustable spikes for convenient placement and installation, and a single port plug that can be placed into one of the three rear ports to create a more “personalized” soundscape.
Since its introduction, the Imagine Series has been praised not only for its beautifully crafted cabinets and clean, modern appearance, but also for clear midrange presence, uncluttered bass, smooth extended highs, and high-power handling. The Imagine T2 lives up to this promise and then some. Combining the best of PSB engineering and style, the T2 will quickly become the main attraction of any room. The Imagine T2 is now shipping in two designer finishes: Black Ash Wood Veneer and Dark Cherry Wood Veneer.
PSB’s Imagine T2’s are available now from authorised PSB dealers at a recommended retail price of $3499.
