PS Audio Embraces Roon

PS Audio continue to be at the forefront of technology, and in particular, trends in digital audio. After setting the HiFi world on fire with the DirectStream DAC, and more recently with their announcement of the DirectStream's little brother, the Junior, they've today announced Roon Ready status.

In case you've been living under a rock the last few months, Roon is easily one of the best interfaces on the market bridging the gap between your music collection and your player, or as Roon calls it, the 'endpoint'. It intuitively sorts, collates, and presents the information in a slick interface that integrates with Tidal in the smoothest fashion.

Roon looks at your music and finds photos, bios, reviews, lyrics, and concert dates, and makes connections between artists, composers, performers, conductors, and producers. Music lovers have content from many sources, often acquired over years of collecting. Roon identifies your music, then enhances it with the latest metadata.

According to Magenta Audio, the Australian distributor for PS Audio:

With a free software update from PS Audio, Bridge II will be Roon-Ready. That includes the newly released DirectStream Junior (with built in Bridge II) and the incredible DirectStream DAC (with the Bridge II option).

The Bridge II is an optional modular card that can be added to the DirectStream DAC instantly adding digital streaming functionality. For the DirectStream Junior, Bridge II is already included.

PS Audio ROON Ready

With the success of the DirectStream DAC family, combined with the polish of Roon, the result is a seriously good combination to take your music collection and streaming well into the future.

The actual release date for the firmware update (Torey's Peak) is not yet known but believed to be within 4 weeks. Stay tuned.
