Nola has announced the second generation Concert Grand Reference Gold 2 two-tower loudspeaker system, and it will debut at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2019.

Nola's $250,000 flagship two-tower Concert Grand Reference Gold has been updated for even better performance. The Holbrook, NY company states that the second generation Concert Grand Reference Gold is only surpassed by the Nola 4-tower Grand Reference VI Gold system.

The Concert Grand is an open-baffle short line source array design and is equipped with a dozen exotic state-of-the-art transducers per tower.

The speakers are presented in mirror-imaged pairs and employ Nola's exclusive 5-way Unison crossover technology.  The crossover components are mounted on six separate, isolated boards to ensure maximum sonic clarity. Furthermore, this practice also eliminates the need for bi-wiring or bi-amping.

Naturally, premium components and wiring in the shape of Nordost silver mono-filament are used throughout. Each loudspeaker is mounted on a ball-bearing double isolation base to eliminate unwanted floor-borne resonances.

Nola Concert Grand Reference Gold 2A pair of 12-inch subwoofers sit in separate ported chambers for 18 Hz to 40 Hz duties. These are bolstered by four 4½-inch magnesium cone bass drivers boast an ultralight 7-gram moving mass and cover the 40 Hz to 400 Hz range. With only one-quarter the moving mass of typical woofers, they employ heavy Alnico ring magnets, and solid copper gold phase plugs for improved articulation and transient attack.

Next up the frequency range are four newly-designed 4½-inch midrange drivers housed in a short line source open dipole array. Again, Alnico ring magnets and solid copper gold-plated phase plugs are utilised and promise outstanding dynamics and exceptional clarity from 400 Hz to 1000 Hz.

The main tweeter is a foot-long true ribbon transducer that takes care of the range above 1000 Hz. That tweeter is joined by a 2-inch true ribbon super tweeter for high-frequency dispersion above 10 kHz to 100 kHz.
