Mola-Mola Kula Integrated Amplifier Released

Mola-Mola's new modular Class D integrated amplifier brings everything together in one compact component.
Mola-Mola's Kula brings together the company's Makua preamp and the outstanding Roon Ready Tambaqui DAC to create a modular integrated amplifier.
Kula, the Hawaiian word for school, is the long-anticipated addition to Mola-Mola's range and is the brand's first integrated amplifier. The Kula combines the company's excellent preamp technology, including optional phono and DAC stages, with newly developed power amplification that promises to deliver exceptional performance and versatility from a stylishly slender chassis.
The case design, of course, follows the distinctive aesthetic of the acclaimed Makua preamp. Meanwhile, under the hood, the Kula incorporates an exclusive Mola-Mola developed power supply, and power-amplifier that we're told is capable of delivering 2x150W/8Ω, 2 x 300W/4Ω. That should be enough to drive most if not all speakers which, incidentally, are attached via two Pairs of Furutech binding posts, directly connected to the amplifier PCB using Kubala·Sosna cable.
The 11kg, 420mm110mmx370mm (WxHxD) Mola-Mola Kula offers three pairs of balanced and three pairs of single-ended inputs for its Line stage. You can also opt to include Mola Mola's MC/MM phono stage and modular DAC section. The phono stage supplies independently adjustable settings covering practically all known cutting curves. The 32-bit DAC stage (also used by the Applause Award-winning Tambaqui stand-alone unit) features five digital inputs including USB, optical, AES, Roon-ready endpoint and Bluetooth.
Andy Baker of UK distributor Sound Design Distribution told StereoNET:
We believe that great hi-fi should aim to be the perfect balance of performance and usability. This precise combination of class-leading properties ensures that the Kula will astound you. It is the integrated amplifier that truly belies its size!
The Mola Mola Kula integrated amplifier is available from this month and has a £9,999 RRP.
The DAC option costs £5,999 and the phono stage, £1,799.
