KUZMA STABI R WORLD PREMIERE
Turntable specialists Kuzma premiered their new Stabi R turntable at the Munich High End show over the weekend. This new addition to its lineup is compact but can accommodate up to four tonearms.
The Stabi R is made from a solid block of aluminium with an internal electronic power supply. Drive is provided through a DC motor and a proprietary, non-flexible drive belt.
The main platter is an 8kg constrained sandwich design consisting of a layer of aluminium, acrylic, and finally another layer of aluminium. Kuzma says this minimises vibrations and maximises the damping effect of the platter itself and that of the LP.
That platter brings the total mass of the table up to 36kg.
The ruby ball minimises friction and noise within the thrust bearing and is supported on a special low noise compound material.
Moreover, the Stabi R is incredibly flexible and versatile in regards to tonearm fitting. It is possible to use up to four tonearms around the main platter as it is available in a double-wing format.
There are also a variety of colours and a wood finish available as options with a suggested retail price of around 7,000 Euro.
Franc Kuzma was on hand in Munich proudly explaining the features of his newest creation that is expected to start shipping around September 2018.
