KRALK AUDIO 30-4 LOUDSPEAKER PROTOTYPES AT NWAS 2019

The latest Kralk Audio creation will be making its debut at North West Audio Show 2019, this weekend.

Wakefield-based Kralk Audio has made its name through its unique hand-built range of speakers all designed and manufactured in the UK by Alan Clark.

Clark is renowned for his passion and ability to produce loudspeakers that punch way above their price point.

This weekend sees the prototype of Alan's latest creation, the 4-way floorstanding Kralk Audio 30-4 loudspeakers, making their debut.

Finished in Cadbury purple, the Kralk Audio 30-4 stands at 1.3metres high, 43cms deep and just 23cms wide. The new speakers are based on the venerable Acoustic Research AR9 from the 70s. However, Alan has brought the design bang up-to-date.

Firstly, Clark has utilised the highly regarded 8-inch unit used in many Haybrook designs of the time, now remanufactured by Scanspeak. The 8-inch unit compliments the 2-inch and 3/4-inch soft dome tweeter combination design to give outstanding clarity and expression to vocals in this tall, slender package.

Additionally, the 30-4 features twin 12-inch bass drivers in each cabinet. Furthermore, the speakers have adjustable cross overs for fine tuning to room size and have infinite baffle bass loading that allows the speaker to be placed near walls.

Frequency response is quoted as 28Hz to 22 kHz, and they need 20-250w to push them along.

The 50kg Kralk Audio 30-4 prototypes can be experienced in the Vinyl Passion room at NWAS 2019. Expect the full production version to be unveiled later in the year where they will be available in a variety of finishes priced from £3,000.

The North West Audio Show is open this weekend, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June at De Vere Cranage Hall Estate, Cheshire.
