KEF Mu3 True-Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earphones Announced

KEF has announced the Ross Lovegrove-designed Mu3 noise-cancelling true-wireless earphones, practically making these mini MUONs for your ears.

KEF's Mu3 earphones feature the company's specially tuned Active Noise Cancellation technology. KEF, which celebrates its 60th birthday this year, says this enables the Mu3 to eliminate external noise without effecting the details that bring music to life.

The Mu3's sculptural enclosures contain an 8.2mm full-range dynamic driver. Naturally, these have been sorted by KEF's engineering team to ensure you get the sound quality associated with the British brand.

The Mu3's organic looks are thanks to Ross Lovegrove, the designer behind the MUON loudspeaker and the MUO Bluetooth speaker. Renowned for his innovative approach and flowing, sculptural forms. Lovegrove's ongoing collaboration with KEF is an exercise in aesthetic and engineering excellence, we're told.

The Mu3s promise to be comfortable as KEF tells us that they are perfectly balanced in the ears by smart weighting, which stops them from falling out. They also come bundled with four different sized ear tips for a tailored fit and creating the perfect seal for noise isolation.

Bluetooth 5.0 assures a stable and latency-free connection while simultaneous transmission means both earphones receive a signal simultaneously rather than being bounced from a primary earpiece. The Mu3 earphones also boast 'Ambient Mode', where at the touch of a button Active Noise Cancellation is disengaged, allowing you to hear your surroundings clearly via the in-built microphones.

Finally, the KEF Mu3 sports high-capacity, quick-charge batteries that hold nine-hours in the buds and a further fifteen in the case, ensuring a full day's listening even with Bluetooth and Noise Cancellation engaged. A quick five-minute charge equates to an hour's play time. They'll also survive being caught in the rain thanks to their splash-proof IPX5-rated design.

The KEF Mu3 are available now priced at £199.
