KEF LSX GAINS APPLE AIRPLAY 2 SKILLS

Today, the KEF LSX compact two-speaker wireless music system gains AirPlay 2 support via a software update.

Joining the likes of McIntosh, Yamaha, and Bluesound, the new LSX update brings new capabilities that allow users to effortlessly stream music or podcasts from their choice of fruity device.

Additionally, thanks to this update, the 4.5-inch Uni-Q driver-equipped LSX will receive multi-room audio capabilities enabling you to play audio in any room from any room, move music from one place to another or play the same song everywhere, using Apple Music. You can even send the sound from an Apple TV to multiple systems.

Of course, all of this is in addition to the original suite of offerings that includes Apple Music support, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Roon, Bluetooth, as well as optical and analogue connections, ensuring that almost every music source is covered. KEF’s proprietary wireless inter-speaker connection supports 48kHz/24bit, whereas the optional wired connection supports 96kHz/24bit transmission.

Updating to AirPlay 2 is a seamless experience, with the new firmware available now and deployed Over-The-Air through the KEF Control app.
