The moment that everyone here at StereoNET UK has been waiting for has finally happened. The JBL L100 Classic loudspeakers are now available to buy.

Our Aussie cousins got to hear them before we met them at the Windsor show. It was great to see these effortlessly cool speakers make an appearance at Bristol this year too.

If you are not aware of these legendary 3-way bookshelf speakers, let us get you up-to-date.

The JBL L100 first appeared in 1970 as a consumer version of the immensely popular JBL 4310 Pro Studio Monitor. Over the years, the iconic L100 became JBL’s best-selling loudspeaker of all time. Additionally, it also featured in one of the best remembered hi-fi-related adverts - the Maxell 'Blown Away Guy'.

Now, the new L100 Classic is available in the UK. Sporting its retro design and iconic JBL styling with its vintage Quadrex foam grille, it is a fitting homage to its predecessor’s storied legacy.

Naturally, the L100 Classic comes fitted with all-new drivers, crossover network and advanced transducer technology and so taking the performance attributes original L100 owners loved, such as exceptional dynamic range, crystal-clear effortless high output, and high-impact bass, while bringing everything up to the highest 21st-century audio standards.

The 12-inch (300mm) woofer is a JW300PW-8 pure pulp cone number with a front-firing port. The 5.25 inch (130mm) 105H-1 polymer-coated pure pulp cone takes care of the midrange. Finally, the top-end duties are covered by the 1-inch JT025Ti1 titanium dome tweeters with soft surround. Rounding off the specs are the adjustable mid- and high-frequency level controls.
