Copland has unveiled its CSA100 hybrid integrated amplifier.

Is it really almost 18 months since Copland launched the CTA408? Well, in what would have been a High End Munich 2020 announcement, the Danes have taken the wrappers off the CSA100 integrated which, in typical Copland style, combines the advantages of tubes and transistor amplification.

The CSA100 amplifier (£3,498) employs a solid-state 100W per channel current feedback power plant, fed by a double triode tube-preamplifier. One tube is responsible for the CSA100 line amplification.

The double triode tube runs at high voltage in a setup for maximum linearity, taking care of the voltage amplification only. The valves handoff to the AMOS-FET circuitry, which delivers the grunt to drive the line stage output and feedback circuitry.

Vinylistas will rejoice at the inclusion of a built-in RIAA input for MM cartridges while the coaxial, USB and three optical inputs are decoded by the ES9018 Reference 32-bit DAC. You can also stream from your portable audio device via Bluetooth aptX if you pay a little extra.

Rounding off the inputs are three pairs of unbalanced RCA and one pair of balanced XLRs.
