B.AUDIO B.AMP DUAL MONO AMPLIFIER ANNOUNCED

The brothers Bermann at B.audio have announced the new B.amp which will be appearing at this year's High End Munich show in a few weeks.
B.audio naturally states that the B.amp is the perfect partner for the company's B.dpr, the new class AB bridgeable power amplifier has been engineered to be used in stereo mode while being primarily a fully symmetrical monoblock.
The output transistors operate in Class AB while the company’s Intelligent Output Drive (IOD) technology, makes use of local feedback to eliminate the associated crossover distortion.
Additionally, the class-A push-pull driver stage features six transistors specifically designed to ensure absolute immunity to loudspeaker-generated return currents. B.audio states that this results in excellent accuracy in sound reproduction.
The use of local feedback at the most critical stages allows perfectly linear operation, under all working conditions.
The full dual mono design also utilises completely separated power supplies for each channel to eliminate the risk of any crosstalk during current peaks.
B.amp measures 450 x 385 x 112mm, weighs in at 20kg and offers 120W or 300W in bridged mode.
Designed by Olivier Hess, the chassis’ front panel features CNC-machined micro-blasted aluminium. The hyperbolic feet that feature on B.audio’s other products are also present on the B.amp.
Cédric Bermann told StereoNET:
The research on amplification was conducted in the same philosophy we adopted for the D/A conversion: we started by scanning all the technical possibilities without preconceived opinion before selecting the most relevant solutions. This is why we have chosen to set the power at a reasonable but comfortable level, the current capacity being still four times higher than usual.
B.audio products are handmade in Mutzig, near Strasbourg. The assembly of the electronic boards, as well as the housing components, are carried out locally by partner companies.
Priced at €14,900, the B.amp will be available to buy from April 30th, 2019.
B.audio will be exhibiting at High End Munich 2019 and can be found in Hall 4 stand P14.
