Audiovector Announces SR Series Loudspeakers

National Audio Group, Australian distributors of Scandinavian loudspeaker manufacturer Audiovector, have today announced the availability of their new SR series loudspeakers.

Founded in 1979 by Ole Klifoth, Audiovector was born out of Klifoth’s desire for a loudspeaker that would reproduce music faithfully across the entire frequency bandwidth to perfection, but also just as importantly, across all genres. His first creation, the Trapez was an instant commercial success for exactly those reasons, receiving high praise in reviews across the globe. In fact, there are many proud owners of the original Trapez still enjoying their speakers to this day.

Ole Klifoth, Founder of Audiovector told StereoNET:

One of the questions we are often asked is how long our speakers will last? The answer is we simply don’t know yet.

More than 35 years later, development has continued and the latest SR Series builds upon Klifoth’s research and modern design principles. Audiovector hand builds all loudspeakers in‐house, using their own designed drivers. Not just the 3 point fixed chassis, but the membranes, the voice coils and the magnet structures. Everything is defined in Copenhagen and hand built in Denmark to Audiovector’s specifications at Scan‐Speak, one of the world’s most famous factory for high‐end drivers.

Audiovector (Australia) announce SR Series LoudspeakersCon Dikeos, Managing Director of National Audio Group added:

The Arreté models are to Audiovector what AMG is to Mercedes, Quattro to Audi and M to BMW: Highly specialised and tuned versions of a great product. Arreté is an old Greek symbol, which means: Being able to perform everything to the highest standards.

The SR 6 range consists of three very competent models, Avantgarde Arreté, Avantgarde, and Signature. Although they share the same DNA, the level of sophistication is different. It is easy to hear how competent each model is. Audiovector’s unique IUC upgrade concept makes it possible to upgrade between models.

The SR 3 range consists of four models, Avantgarde Arreté, Avantgarde, Signature and Super. One is more sophisticated than the other, but each is designed with respect for Audiovector’s unique sound philosophy.

The SR 1 line‐up also consists of four models, Avantgarde Arreté, Avantgarde, Signature and Super. Ole Klifoth rose to the challenge and went on a tour de force through virtually all aspects of optimisation in the fields of drivers and cross‐overs, driver and cabinet interaction, speaker to floor interaction, cryogenic treatment – and much more. A couple of years later, the SR 1 Avantgarde Arreté was born.

For those with a combined two‐channel Hi‐Fi and Home Theatre audio system, complementing the SR Floor stander and Stand mount speaker ranges there are also four additional SR C‐Series Centre Speakers and SR‐Sub Series Subwoofers in each of the four models.

Ole Klifoth continued:

Today, all Audiovector speakers are built on the same rules and values of the first speaker, the Trapez, albeit in modernised form. There is a list of rules for perfect speaker design, which I have followed (and modernised) since the start in 1979.”

Con Dikeos added:

We’re very excited about the release of the SR Series which replaces and improves upon the Si Series. Audiovector have been producing some of the world’s finest speakers with attention to detail and workmanship that is second to none.

The SR range includes the SR 1‐Series stand‐mount speakers starting at $3,318, the SR3 Super floor‐standing speakers at $5,482 RRP, and finally the top of the range SR6 floorstanding speakers that start at $18,199 RRP. SR6 Avantgarde Arrete’ are the pinnacle of the SR range at $36,681 RRP.
