AUDEZE LCD2 CLOSED BACK HEADPHONES UK PRICING

Audeze has announced a more personal version of their excellent LCD2 headphones, the LCD2 Closed-Back.
First released in 2009, the LCD2 planar-magnetic headphones quickly gained a fantastic reputation. Last year saw a lower-priced variant in the LCD2 Classic that features handmade wooden accents. However, even though the company has released follow-ups in the LCD3 and others, fans still have much love for the LCD2.
In creating the new LCD2 Closed-Back headphones, Audeze looked to capture the sound of the original LCD2 open-backs but increase isolation and decrease ambient noise. A move that makes them ideal for use when sharing the room with someone, or even when travelling.
Naturally, you’re still getting the same planar magnetic drivers. Unlike normal headphones, they use a thin, vibrating diagram that’s driven by magnetic fields to produce sound, instead of a traditional coil system. This is what creates the same warm sound that made the LCD-2 so popular in the first place.
A trait usually associated with closed-back headphones is increased bass when compared with open-back headphones. We are hoping to get ears on with a set at this weekend's CanJam in London to see how these fair in this respect.
With that said, Audeze does boast about the bass response of the headphones in the marketing material. This leads us to suspect that if you love the LCD2 overall but found the low-end lacking, you might like the closed-back variant even more.
Further features include a lightweight suspension headband, special crystal-infused nylon rings, and replaceable memory foam ear pads. Additionally, you get a dual 4-pin mini-XLR to 1/8-inch cable.
The Audeze LCD2 Closed-Back are available now. In a UK exclusive, StereoNET has confirmed they will sell locally for £699. You read it here first!
